Ultrasound Scan | Primescan Radiology
Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to create live images of your organs, tissues and blood flow. It involves no radiation, needs no injections in most cases, and is comfortable and quick. It is the first choice for pregnancy scans and many abdominal and soft tissue problems.
How it works
A trained sonographer applies a warm gel to your skin and moves a small handheld probe over the area being examined. The probe sends sound waves into the body and picks up the echoes, which appear as images on a screen. You can usually see the images as the scan is done.
